What's more important in a set of rims? Looks, or light weight and strength? Would you rather pay more for some understated forged rims, or some flashy chrome-plated and heavy 22s or 24s?

Frankly anything would help me out right about now... anyone out there want to donate some rims to Auto-Mo? Seriously though, I think a combination of both looks and performance rocks, of course. Rims are going to take a beating if the vehicle is actually driven, that's inevitable. So they have to be street-worthy. As far as you crazy people hopping 3 feet on 22's - dang.... I've seen a 24'' rim split lenghtwise doin' that... I have an idea for my "rims", and I haven't it seen out there too much... we'll see if it happens. I don't think bigger is always better... I think rims complete a vehicle, but they alone don't MAKE it. A sick ride is a sick ride, and if it's ready for 24's but still rollin' stocks, who cares.

I've got to admit I'm a big fan of forged wheels. They're a little more expensive, but generally much stronger and lighter than an equivalent cast wheel. The only downside is the styles generally aren't as creative as cast rims, which give you more latitude because of the production methods. Basically, with the forged rims, it has to be something you can put into a CNC program and mill out of the wheel. I ain't much into the eye candy. Forged all the way!

Ive always had the mind set of "if its not billet, I dont want it". I think the majority of the time when people go to buy wheels all they are after is the "look". It seems that most people dont take into consideration the quality of a wheel, how its made or anything like that. I'd much rather see someone roll on the stockers a while longer so they can save up and get a good quality set of wheels other than just gettin the elcheapo X brand of wheels just to say they have wheels.

hey stocks can be gangster too... my thing is, if you can lay it out on complete stocks, 1. that's just tight, 2. you tuck a lot 3. you're ready for rims whenever.
don't put rims on but have em rub, not fit right, not get as low as you'd like to.
rims can happen at any time, that's the fun part. Getting READY for rims is where the hard work is...
