give me the year/issue and story name, and (depending on how far back it is), we will give it our best shot to put it up for you.

This has been bugging me for a long time. Years ago I had a magizine, I want to say it was Sport Truck Magizine. The issue featured some kind of a sport truck challenge. I lost the magizine and was really pissed about this. I've tried finding information about that particular issue on the internet over the years with no luck. The year had to of been around 1999, but could have been 98 or 2000. That particular article gave a discription about all of the trucks in the challenge. One of those trucks was a first gen S-10. It had a V-8 and I want to say 700R4. It was a regular cab two tone white and orange ( I think ). The orange would have been the center of the door wrapped around the truck. The S-10 was very well put together especially at a time when you rarely even herd of V-8's in S-10's. It also had the Zq8 S-10 SS wheels on it. This truck was very impressive to me. It was put through many tests in the magizine one of which was the 1/4 mile where it was running in the 10's consistantly as they put it. Another test was fuel economy were they drove the different trucks at 55 MPH. The S-10 was getting 25 MPG. What I'm asking for is for everbody to dig through their archives and help me find any information on this truck. If I'm really lucky one of you would have keep an issue like this and scan the article for me. Again I don't know what magizine this was but I think it might have been Sport Truck Mag. Thanks for the help.

I'm pretty sure you're referring to Mike Knell's '87 S10. It was in the January 1999 issue, which featured a story called Run What Ya Brung. Knell's ZZ3 small block-equipped truck got better than 22.5 mpg on the highway and ran three consecutive quarter miles passes that were within ".10" seconds of eath other. The passes averaged 13.98 at 97.77 mph though.
His truck was white with a red, orange, yellow and pinkish stripe running right through the middle of the body from the front fender to the bed.
