I NEED INFO ABOUT THE DRIVESHAFT ON A 98 TACOMA. HOW MUCH CAN YOU LIFT IT BEFORE YOU HAVE TO PUT IN A LONGER DRIVESHAFT? WOULD THERE BE ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT IF I PUT ON A 3 INCH LIFT KIT?

I had a 3.5 inch lift on my 2002 tacoma and then proceded with a longtravel suspension.  I had no problems with driveshafts.  Only time I would think you would need a new driveshaft is you were using it for off road racing.

I had a 2001 Tacoma extended cab that had a two piece shaft. I installed a Deaver race pack and Daystar shackles, that lifted me up more that 3-inches and never had an issue. Even when I caught a little air everything stayed together. Just make sure to install limit straps if you are going jumping.
