I recently bought an 02' sierra thats bagged fbss, with a four link in the rear, the bags are sitting between the axle and the crossmember.. my problem is when i try to drive with the truck lowered it makes a horrible grinding noise under the cab, almost like the driveshaft is hitting something, but it doesnt do it when the truck is all the way up.... does anyone have any ideas why its doing that or how to fix it? could it possibly be the angle of the rear end or anything like that?

you could be exactly right - driveshaft could be hitting something.... air it up and take a look underneath... you should be able to SEE exactly where the driveshaft is hitting just by looking at the driveshaft.... bare shiny areas hahaha. Probably hitting the cab just like you said.

Well yesterday I was on my way to take my truck to the shop to see what problem was and on the way I was going down the interstate and when I hit the gas one of the four-link mounts busted off, the axle moved so much it popped the driveshaft out and I had to get it towed the rest of the way.... The idiot that welded the mount on didnt even grind the metal before he welded it ... so now im looking at a new four-link and a little fabrication to get it fixed and Im just praying the tranny is still ok... pretty sad considering Ive only had this truck 5 days!!!

ya the total for fixing it was $1995!... the grinding noise turned out to be the driveshaft hitting a crossmember, which was nothing compared to my other troubles! I had to get 2 new bags, a new four link, they had to relocate the pan hard bar cuz it was put on backwards and it the wrong place, and re-do all the wiring... I had the shop check out all the other welds.... I am fighting with the car lot right now trying to get them to pay for it since I only had the truck for 3 days before this happened...

Ya they had just got the truck as a trade in and I got to it before they sent it off to auction... I traded them an 07 Silverado for the Sierra and an 05 Optima...

Well I was wanting one but I wasnt really looking for one, we were just looking at car lots to trade my silverado for two cars or a family car and another truck, and while I was test driving some four cylinder the salesman asked me what kind of vehicle I really wanted, and not expecting them to have one I jokingly said a bagged truck and they actually had one! Bagged trucks dont hold value at car lots so he had no problem trading me for my silverado with only 10k miles on it... I use to have a bagged 00' extreme and I regretted selling it, and ever since then I wanted another one....

Well when we bought the truck the salesman said it had been inspected by thier mechanics and they said it was fine, but after it messed up I went up there to talk to the general manager but of course all I got was the run-around... and then they finally said that they were not going to do anything about it even though I only had it a few days before this happened... Its a large car lot so im sure it wouldnt be any sweat of thier back just to pay for it to be fixed, thats all I wanted.. So now we have made a complaint with the BBB, and a complaint to the attorney general, and if that doesnt get anything done we will probably have to get a lawyer involoved...

maybe this is why you don't see bagged trucks on car lots too often! they'd be better off to just pay for it, would seem to be less hassle for them.

Ya this other car lot we were looking at before I found this truck said that they are not even suppose to sell bagged trucks because of the frame being cut, and the other mods... so I guess I was kind of lucky to even find one at a big lot... They gave me 14,000 for my chevy and the optima was 9,500.. so I only gave them like 4,500 for the truck which wasnt too bad, even though after getting it fixed brought it up too 6,500 that I have put in the truck!
