I have a 1994 gmc 1500.my truck headlight switch was smoking and my headlights were blinking on and off and the next day the battery was dead do u have any idea what could be the problem

Dude! That sounds like a pretty major short you have going on there at the back of the switch.
Have you messed with the wiring at all?
I would definitely replace the switch and inspect all the wiring around it.
You're lucky that didn't cause a fire!

no i havent messed with the wiring but i was going to order me a new switch and try that for starters

ckresto.com has all the parts you need to fix the chevy electrical gremlins.
question? have you added any aftermarket items to the wiring behind the dash like a trailer brake controller, neon, gauges etc.?
