you will be able to clear those 20's with a 4/6 drop. Use the McGuaughys kit tho! Its the best riding kist on the market...

What about 22's. I found some for cheap, but would they still fit?

Is there a 4/6 lowering kit that does not require C notches?

No because there is only 6-inches between the axle and frame on a stock truck. So you would be laying on the frame, which is no bueno. A 2/4 kit looks good while not having to notch it. Plus you can run a nice sized tire for ride quality.

On a 2/4 drop would it ride smoother with coils and a shackle and hanger kit, or control arms and leaf springs?

If you go with a spindle or set of control arms, you should retain the factory ride. Shorter springs will definately ride a little stiffer. On the rear, a shackle and hanger kit would also keep the factory ride. Though I think those year Chevys ride too soft in the rear and would use a new leaf spring to counter it.
