I got a 00' chevy with a 4.3 and i want to swap it for a 327 or 350. My friend said that a 350 out of the same year truck would fit with no modifications, Is this true.

This is not, the small block motor will fit in your engin compartment but you will need to make some modificatios here and there.
The motor will fit between the motor mounts but I'm not sure if it will actually bolt to your existing mounts. The transmission bell housing is the same so it will bolt up to the small block but keep an eye on the holes for the converter in the flywheel as these might be different.
You should be fine in the length department but if the water pump gets too close to the radiator look into the following. -electric fans that mount to the outside of the radiatior (pushers). Moving the fans to the other side will give you more room.
-small blocks had the option of either a short or long water pump. if you have a long then converting to a short style will give you room, but you will need the pump and all brackets and pullys.
Search sites like JEGs, they have conversion kits and some other stuff you might need.

there a couple of S10 small block conversion books out there that will help you a bunch. One is by Mike Knell and its published by JTR of Livermore, CA.
Its simply called the :Chevrolet S10 Truck V-8 Conversion Manual.
you can also go to www.s10v8.com for some great info.
