Canyon Engine swap

I have an '05 Canyon with the I5 and 5 speed.  The *** thing has too little torque!  I want to swap an I6 from the Trailblazer.  My theory is to move the rad ahead, fab some new engine mounts and exhaust fiddling as needed, hook up the computer and voila!
Any comments or ideas?

if you are going to all that trouble why not go right up to the ls v8?

you can get 400-600hp crate engines? fuel injected, 25 mpg, aww yeah.

Anyone know someone that's done the swap yet? its a pretty new truck and i dont know anyone that's fed up enough with the stock 5 banger to make the switch to another motor.

I'd think the easiest V8 swap would be a 5.3. Hummer fit the 5.3 in the H3 Alpha with very few modifications, the only trick is going to be the wiring... which will be the hardest part of any modern engine swap.

Really, the best answer on late model swaps just for the sake of more power is sell it and buy something you want.

I was thinking about pulling the old 305 out of my '73 chevy rebuilding it and putting it in my canyon. A buddy of mine said to leave the computer in it to "trick it" into thinking the engine just isn't running, and pull out the warning light bulbs.  Any thoughts?

If you want to get into engine swaps come and buy mine. I'll throw in for FREE a 305/5spd with its wiring harness, computer & schematics. A link to my ad is below, I think if you copy/paste it in the address bar it should take you there. If it does'nt then search for it by title:

FOR SALE / 1993 Chevy Silverado, Extended Cab, ½ ton short bed

if you don't have to smog it then i'd say forget the injection and put a carbureted motor in there and make it easy on yourself. Or if you want injection, then forget trying to integrate the factory stuff together and just slap an aftermarket EFI in there from a company like FAST.
