It was bought over here by the USAF or someone serving with them and was registered for our roads in '91. A local guy has had it for the past 8 years and I spotted it in an ad.

I bought it as a project base - as I think I've mentioned you don't see many over here and I'm itching to get it a fair bit closer to the ground and sort the powertrain out. Looking for ideas and info on wheel/tyre combo's at the minute. I seem to be spending about 5 hrs every evening online looking at other trucks, forums and harassing parts suppliers to ship to me!!!

yeah, it's hard enough with tons of trucks around locally to look at and get ideas from. And the shipping part sucks too...

You aren't wrong, for the cost I could well just fly over and bring the bits back! I have some wheels sorted now at least.

Hey guys, I'm a Newbie to this forum.

I have a 1990 Chevy half ton Silverado Short bed that I added an air ride suspension along with some other modifications to the bed, etc...  I spent a lot of time cleaning the frame and painting the suspension using black POR15!  Great stuff!  It leaves a really nice gloss finish even though, due to overspray issues, I applied the entire material using a soft bristle brush.

I have also posted a similar question on another custom car website, so I apologize if this appears to be redundant for some of you surfers out there.  I'm needing to know if anyone give me direction or ideas on what to use as "hinges" and lift or support mechanisms, to be mounted on  the lower side of the pickup box?  If you know of a website with an article or close-up pics, etc....I'd really appreciate that.  I'm also thinking about sliding the front end assy. forward and then tilting the front clip upward as well....so any articles regarding that would be helpful as well.

I want to be able to tilt the bed, from the left to the right instead of lifting it up at the front and tilting it backwards.  I put in a lot of time painting the frame and undercarriage and would like to be able to show that off.  Why else do we do this stuff?  Right?  LOL!

Thanks,

Icsmannn
