I need help finding the best high-end brake upgrade for a 2005 Escalade.I'm considering AP Racing, Baer, SSBC, DBA and Power Slot. The truck is sitting on 24-inch KMC wheels, so I have plenty of room for bigger discs. Any recomendations would be awesome! Thanks
You can do anything you dare to dream.
All of the performance brake kits you mentioned will shorten your stopping distance especially the ones that increase the rotor size. Since they all will shorten the stop here are some other things to consider when choosing a brake set up. 1. Is it a true bolt in install or do you have to cut or modify your truck?2. Are the pads readily available or can you only get them from the specific company. Some of these kits use an off-the-shelf pad for a street application making replacements easier to obtain.3. Will the kit work with the factory ABS system?4. Will it fit behind your wheels? When installing a big brake kit you not only have to worry about the diameter clearance you also need to make sure it will clear the spokes. I have run into clearance issues even with 22’s so make sure to get the dimensions from the manufactures, most can be found on the company’s web sites.Hope that helps
