There are several reasons why these trucks are not as popular with the first being expense. Parts for these trucks are more expensive because they are not many companies that make them. They have never been as popular as the 88-98 chevy because that truck is what launched the whole sport truck industry. But it doesn't matter to me that my truck isn't as popular as another brand because I like it & I want to be different from all the other sport trucks!

Hi, if you think you have it bad, try owning an '83 F100 and living here in the UK. Getting the parts is a problem in itself, then you have the choice of being ripped off by specialist parts importers, or finding someone stateside that will ship. Then you have to pay import duties, VAT....not putting me off though. Just spent the last 3 wks trying to compile a list of suppliers and trying to fill my favourites with sites that have info on or owners of lowered 7th Gen(?) F100's.

i dont know about the parts issue myself, though i cant find some aftermarket stuff..but thats ok..im gone satin black & doin the old school setup with red interior & hope to have steelies & whitewalls soon enuf. I have 20"s and layin frame. Its cool to be different, besides anyone can lay frame in a chevy...just takes a hacksaw!

Drag it like ya stole it

i like to be diffrent! i had a bagged 97 f150 as my work truck for 5 years, i loved it and it got looks. my new truck is a 70 f100 the body is all stock and it lays rockers on a custom frame i built. it has gotten more looks and thumbs up, in the 4 months i have been driving it than the 97 ever did.

i'd much rather look at an old ford than another cookie cutter chevy.
