What does that have to do with an SS Silverado? Your title is a little misleading there...

lol... it was a little misleading, never the less i am still able to answer your question.

it is only necessary if you want to dial your truck in as accurately as possoble.  Check out the Hypertech Max Energy on stilles dot com.  that will take care of all your needs!

the programmer is only necessary if you go to a different tire diameter and want to correct the speedometer and shift points for the transmission.

I got a question for anyone who might know. I got a 03 SS and one of the catalytic converters went out. I want to put an h pipe on the truck and eliminate the converters but i know it probably gonna throw a code. Not sure what to do about the o2 sensors. Need advice on the whole situation of what may be the best thing for me to do. Thanks alot..>>               JP

I have seen a thing that goes on the o2 sensor and kinda fakes it out into thinking it is still hooked up and running fine.  I think it was in jegs????? not sure

it would be easiest to have bungs welded into the pipes and just re-install the 02 sensors to avoid having the codes appear. the computer is going to cause grief with how the engine runs if the 02 sensors aren't working.
