As far as first things...
Just bought a 99 Suburban yesterday and the first thing on my list is CLEAN the interior from the 9 years of 1 owner smoking in it! It's a clean truck but YUCK!!!
I cannot understand how I ever enjoyed that habit.

I bought the Sub for my daily driver. It's loaded and 4wd so it will be a nice truck for all seasons.
Now I can get back to working on the Silverado. I spent a few months as my driver but we all know how hard it is to work on them at the same time so I put custom & fab plans on hold....until now!
I spent 3 hours cleaning the interior tonight...and I still have to clean the carpet this weekend. I should just replace the carpet but I don't want to drop the coin. I own the carpet cleaner making that option "free"!
Plus my bushes with the bagworms are history!!! Gone as of today...came home from work and it was already done. Sweet!

yeah no kidding, it's totally hard to work on it and drive it. Shoot, hard enough to work on it period!
You are making me feel guilty for not taking care of my truck and keeping it clean . Good for you though!
Dude those stupid bagworms...so lame...

Didn't mean to guilt trip anybody about cleaning!
You gotta understand, this guy smoked in this truck for over 8 years! I doubt it was ever cleaned during that time.

While on the subject of interiors.....I read your posts 5569 concerning tweed interiors being outdated. To me the animal prints and snake skin stuff is outdated.....or stolen out of a 1977 custom van!
I'm coming into custom trucks from the hotrod scene so to me tweed is clean and modern looking. A nice mix of colors with tweed and leather/vinyl is almost timeless. Trendy colors are what dates an interior.
Your dime's interior looks good 5569, a nice blend of textures. Building a tasteful truck on the average person's "toy" budget is not so easy.

thank you! I really like it too, especially because my brother did it and I know what kind of work he put into it to reupholster the seats, headliner, floor, bed, tonneau underside, etc. Certain people are very condescending towards trucks that don't have huge rims and/or paint (and they carry that attitude into the interior.) But I know some trucks are POS trucks that divert attention through pretty paint and big rims. It's still crap underneath, but it'll get its shiny shell ooh'd and aah'd over all day long. So thank you!
