I need a new hood, and I was just wondering if anyone had any insights on Fiberglass vs. Steel hoods. My truck is a daily driven '96 GMC Sierra, and I'm trying to decide between the classic 2" steel cowl hood from goodmark and the "S.S." fiberglass hood from Cervini's. Does anyone out there have either of these hoods, or a similar fiberglass hood? Have you had any trouble with them? Do you have to baby the fiberglass hoods? Does anyone know of a manufacturer that makes a functional ram-air steel hood that actually looks good? Any insights or experience would be really helpful. Thanks!

CHEVYTUGH's 1994 Chevrolet S10 look at my truck, Steel is by far the way to go. I manage a body shop for a large GM dealership in Iowa and we do alot of cawl hoods they just look so sleek and Glossy when painted. That and I have had fiberglass break at the hinges. Also you have to have a prop rod to hold them up and if there not secure when closed you will start to get stress cracks from the movement while driving. Just my 2 cents.
