Hey fellas, I have one big question about my truck, an 1989 dodge dakota, and hopefully some of you might be able to help me.
Sometimes as I'm driving and I come to either a red light or an stop sign, the engine shuts off and the engine oil light comes on and I have a hard time starting the truck again, however the electrical system keeps working. So what do you guys and ladies think might be the cause of my problem???

Recently (over the last year) I changed the starter motor, the engine oil pressure switch and the rear differential. Thanks in advance

you didn't say if your truck is carbureted or fuel injected. I would recommend a tune-up, and check the air/fuel ratio. you may not be getting enough fuel at idle.

I ended taking the truck to the mechanic and it turned out to be the engine pick up coil. It's been 2 weeks since it was changed ans so far so good. Thanks for your input.
