I've always wanted to be a pimp...
I might check if the "smartest man alive" position is available...
But seriously, the pimp thing sounds kinda cool...plus I'm thinking it is recession proof. I've started searching for brims on eBay...some purple and green feathers, too...for the hat.
Machinist / Mold Making / Metal Fabrication / Computer Design are my strong points. I might check into retraining for some additional automotive background and then see what that leads to. I've tossed around opening my own shop and offering any service needed: auto, home, custom fabrication, custom painting. The only issue is having customers that can afford the work. Time will tell!

hmm it would seem like there would be opportunities out there, as that kind of stuff is always needed!! Not the pimp idea hahaha, the areas you mentioned as strong points. Seems like opening your own shop could be risky right now

I'm not excited about doing my own business again. I had my own successful business for 3 years, commercial space, all the tools, numerous trucks & employees...it's not for me! I'm too much of a control freak, plus I HATE people using my tools, let alone abusing them! It was a home improvement business. I got out before the market dropped out. I was able to sell everything off and basically break even. I vowed to never do that again. Being your own boss is great but it seems that the work never ends. I would get to the shop a little after 5am and lock up at the end of the day around 8pm...6 days a week!
I did that after the manufacturing trade in the Chicagoland area tanked in 2000.
Never again...
