My name is matthew, i have owned a 96 s-10 for a while now, it has a programes, homemade cold air, 3/4 lowering kit with some stock extreme wheels.  I have been thinking about it and want to bag my truck when I get back from Iraq.  I just want to know if there are any bolt in kits that any average guy can do in a drive with basic, basic tools and I would like to keep the cutting to a minumal as much as possible.  The hope is that I can bag it one 18's or just keep the rims I have now with out breaking the bank and cutting my truck up,  although down the road I'm sure it will happen.  Any help would be great, this truck world is very new to me.

Hi!
When do you get back? How is everything? Thanks for doing what you do!! :-)
The problem with wanting to bag your truck but not cutting it up is that it won't get as low as it could!! And if you're sure it'll happen down the road, I say skip the middle step and "cut it up," even if that means waiting and investigating more, or even taking it somewhere to have the basic job done (step notch in back, at least.) At first I didn't want to permanently modify my truck in any way (cutting frame, cutting holes, etc.) But then I realized that in order to have it ride nicely and get low, that's what it takes. Bagged trucks involve modification, it's just one of those things. If I ever get rid of my truck (won't happen), it would be as a bagged, modified truck. Never going back to a stock form.

I get back at the end of the year.  Thats the feeling I'm getting is that I might as well cut it up, I'm in the same boast though that in the end it is a truck I plan on keeping and is my daily driver, who says you cant drive a nice truck, even if it is old as ***  One thing I like about the s-10 is the support out there, I have a 64 comet and there is nothing out there.  I'm just glad it uses alot of mustang *** or I'd be up a creek.  I think that in the end I will look into a shop to do the cutting and welding that is needed.  In the end I want to do the kit just cause at the end of the day, I'm the one that did.  thanks for taking the time to write back

Great things do happen on this site, it just started out as a question and look at all the support.  When I first got the truck I did a basic 3/4 static drop on it and while out here decided to just say the hell with it and bag it when I get home.  I hope it snow balls from there though, I have already started looking into front end conversions, I'd like to do a Cadie front end like the full size trucks, or maybe just something a bit simpler for now like update the front end to the newer s-10's.  I have been looking at super chargers or even a little laughing gas. I'd like to do suicide doors too, and paint it that nice pearl white like the older cadilacs came.  I think everyday I am trying to look up something when I get a chance. I read article on here, look at other peoples rides which gives me ideas.  Some of these Ideas will be long down the road and some sooner. I can't thank everyone for there support and ideas.  The end of the year will be here soon, but not soon enough.....I honestly cant wait to start and I will make sure I post a crap load of pics

Im Saddam's home town of Tikrit Iraq.  Every thing is great, I got something to look forward to besides just getting home.  The down side is that it is starting to get hot, here which means the real heat is well be here soon.  Its usually likae 115+ and thats like 5-6 in the afternoon too.  I do Intel work more or less while here.  Besides that when I get free time I try and just do something fun.  I got an RC car that is set up for drifting and I go over to an area and mess aroung a little, last deployment i had a supercharded gas powered f-150 but gas dosn't do very good out here in the heat.

Its a TTo1, that I belt from the ground up.  It has a Castel Creatins brushless motor in it that I can prgram and adjust the powere and control on my computer.  It has all metal running gear and some other misc things on it.  The boddy on there now is a old challenger painted that bright pink with a black hood.  I also have a 2006 mustang bodie that I pianted like a CHP and instead of saying highway patrol is says drift patrol, even has working lights on top of it.  Its a super fun to play with right now I need to get a better charger/battery so that way I get more then 10 mins of run time, the motor sucks the battery I got now dry pretty quick.
You into RC cars too.  If your not give em a try they are fun as hell and addictive too.
