was wondering if someone can help me... im swaping out the engine in my 95 s10 and wanted to know what my best option is guna be for a rear end.. make and gear ratio. ill wind up doin the heads and intake manifold as well as carbs with prob a 5speed racing tranny. not sure what tranny i should go with tho so ill take suggestions on that too.. thanks for your time.

What engine are you swapping in? I guess the big issue is how much horsepower and torque do you expect out of the new engine? As for the transmission a six speed would be the way to go, if your budget allows for it. You can beef up your existing rear to meet the power, probably your cheapest choice. Gear ratios depend on how you will be using the truck. Are you racing, and if so what type of racing? If you are drag racing then automatic trans is more consistant....if this is a street toy a manual is always more fun to drive!

That's a lot to think about...
