Clouded clearcoat under body side moldings???

I removed the body side moldings from my 99 Suburban. After all the adhesive strips were removed I noticed the clearcoat had a "cloud" thing going on.....anywhere there wasn't adhesive. I was running out of time for the project so I just waxed the lower half of the truck and washed it.
Will this clouding come out with a wet sand and buff? If so what grit and compounds? The truck is gold so the clouding is noticable after you know it's there.....looks like a ghost stripe.....not really cool.
HELP!!!

Nope.....and at the right angle you don't see it.....but I know it's there.
